Collection: Sabre Saw Blades

Sabre Saw Blades are straight, replaceable cutting blades designed for use in sabre saws (reciprocating saws). They oscillate back and forth to make rapid, aggressive cuts through a variety of materials.

Key Characteristics:

  • Shank Type: Most blades feature a universal barbed-shank or T-shank that fits into the saw’s blade clamp for easy tool-free changes.

  • Blade Length & Thickness: Common lengths range from 100 mm up to 300 mm or more, with thicknesses of around 0.5–1.2 mm, balancing flexibility and strength.

  • Tooth Pitch (TPI): Lower TPI (6–10) for fast, rough cuts in wood and demolition work; higher TPI (14–24) for smoother cuts in metal or plastic.

  • Material Construction:

    • High-Carbon Steel (HCS): Flexible for cutting wood, plasterboard or plastics.

    • Bi-Metal: Hardened teeth welded to a spring-steel backing for cutting metal-reinforced wood, nails or pipes.

    • Carbide-Grit Coated: Abrasive surface for cutting tile, cement board or masonry.

  • Tooth Geometry: Varied gullet depths and hook angles optimise chip clearance and reduce clogging in thick materials.

  • Durability Features: Heat-treated or induction-hardened teeth resist wear and maintain cutting performance under heavy loads.

Common Uses:

  • Demolition & Renovation: Quickly cutting through timber studs, plasterboard, floorboards and nails.

  • Metal-Work: Trimming metal pipes, conduit or sheet-metal (with appropriate bi-metal blades).

  • Pruning & Landscaping: Cutting through roots, small branches or plastic/metal garden tubing.

  • Construction: Making rough openings in drywall, timber framing or composite panels.

  • General-Purpose Cutting: Any task requiring fast, straight or plunge cuts where precision finishing is not the primary concern.
