How To Use:

Preparation:

• Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from any existing finishes, wax, oil, or grease. Sand thoroughly and remove any dust.

Application:

1. Shake the tin well before use.
2. If more than one tin is required, mix the tins together to ensure uniform colour.
3. Apply one liberal coat of Spirit Wood Dye with a brush or cloth. Allow the dye to penetrate the wood.
4. Remove excess dye with a clean cotton cloth before it dries to ensure an even finish.
5. After drying, finish the surface with varnish, wax, or oil to protect the wood.

Advice:

• Do not apply a second coat, as it may lift the first coat.
• Avoid mixing spirit-based dyes with water-based dyes.
• Spirit Wood Dye is not compatible with French polishes or shellac-based sealers. Always test for compatibility before use.
• Different types of wood may result in different finishes. Always test the dye on a spare or inconspicuous area first.
• Dispose of residues and solvents responsibly, and clean tools with methylated spirit after use.
