Wood coating for oily and resinous hardwoods!
Clear, satin wood coating that uniquely combines the advantages of natural oils and waxes in one product. Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin is stain-resistant, water-repellent and abrasion-resistant, and smoothens the surface. Compared to conventional coatings, the use of plant ingredients creates a more even colour and more harmonious appearance. Simple application – no primer or sanding between coats needed – this saves time and money. Suitable for wood; microporous surface will not crack, peel, flake or blister. Resistant to wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juice, milk and water in accordance with German DIN 68861-1A – no water spots. The dry coating is safe for humans, animals and plants (resistant to saliva and perspiration acc. German DIN 53160, suitable for children’s toys acc. EN 71.3).
Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin is suitable for the protection of wood in indoor areas: wall and ceiling panelling, wooden flooring, furniture and toys. Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin is also particularly suited to the clear treatment of hardwoods rich in extractives, such as Meranti, Wengé, Merbau etc.
Based on natural plant oils (sunflower oil, soybean oil, thistle oil) and waxes, paraffin, siccatives (drying agents) and water-repellent additives. Dearomatised white spirit (benzene-free).
5 years or longer if stored in the originally closed container. If thickened by frost, store at room temperature for 24 hours prior to use.
Two coats on raw wood; for renovations, normally one coat on the clean surface is sufficient – without sanding!

Made with 100% natural bristles with soft tips which gives fine control in achieving the desired effect. Make short work of large areas with exceptional coverage capacities to produce professional looking results every time. With a high quality beech frame and robust backing plate, simply attach the Osmo extendable telescopic handle for applying in comfort.
Microfibre roller and 60mm natural bristle brush set to ensure high coverage allowing you to apply thinly, thoroughly and evenly along the wood grain and spread well. For first application, two coats is recommended onto a clean and dry surface. For renovation, just one coat is necessary.
Wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 18%). Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin is ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well before use. Clean old microporous stains thoroughly. Old paints, varnishes and lacquers must be completely removed. Always wear a dust mask while sanding. Fill small cracks, larger joints or holes in wood (Osmo Wood Filler). If possible, please apply the first coat to all sides before installation. Sand wood surfaces carefully. Begin with coarse sandpaper – final sanding work for flooring 100-120, for furniture P120-180. Before oiling the surface, remove sanding dust with a broom or vacuum cleaner.
The finished surface and the product coverage are influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.
Methods of application:
Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin can be brushed, wiped, dipped or sprayed in an enclosed unit. Apply evenly along the wood grain with Osmo Flat Brush or a lint-free cloth (e.g. for furniture). 1st coat: apply thinly. Leave to absorb for 30 minutes and wipe away any excess. Re-apply to unsaturated areas. 2nd coat: apply thinly. Leave to absorb for 30 minutes and wipe away any excess. Recommended number of coats: one coat for furniture / two coats for flooring. For renovation works, one coat applied to the clean and dry surface is usually sufficient.
Cleaning of tools:
With Osmo Brush Cleaner (free of aromatic compounds).
Drying time:
Approx. 12 hours (normal climatic conditions, 20-23°C / 50-65 % rel. humidity). Ventilate well while drying. Lower temperatures and/or higher air humidity may increase drying times significantly.
Note:
Oils enhance the natural tone of wood (permanent wet effect). Applying the product too generously and insufficient ventilation lead to delays in drying time. Caution: Apply max. one coat thinly to cabinet interiors and drawers with a cloth.
Caution:
Keep out of reach of children. Safety data sheet available on request. Warning: Materials impregnated with liquid product, such as cloths, may self-ignite. After use, let the materials to dry completely either spread out flat or in a closed metal container and then dispose of them properly. EU VOC limit value for this product: out of scope.
Disposal:
Dispose of product residues according to the official guidelines (European Waste Code (EWC)-Code 08 01 12). Only completely emptied cans can be recycled.
