Rustins Advanced Wood Preserver Clear is an innovative wood protection solution based on micro-emulsion nanotechnology, ensuring superior performance compared to standard wood preservation products. Its ultra-fine particle size allows deeper penetration, providing reliable protection against wood rotting fungi and wood-boring insects. This low-odour, non-flammable preserver is quick-drying and can be applied to wet or dry timbers, making it ideal for both interior and exterior applications. For outdoor use, the clear preserver must be overcoated with an outdoor varnish or oil for optimal results. It is perfect for treating garden fences, tables, chairs, and other outdoor wood surfaces.
Type: Clear wood preserver
Intended Use: Protection of bare wood against rot, fungi, and wood-boring insects
Special Features: Superior penetration and effectiveness compared to standard products; requires overcoating with an outdoor varnish or oil for outdoor use
Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, free of previous coatings, grease, and contaminants. Do not apply to decayed wood
Application: Shake well and stir before use. Apply by brush or coarse spray. For outdoor applications, overcoat with varnish or oil
Coats: Apply a minimum of two coats
Drying Time: 10–15 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity
Re-coating Time: Apply the second coat before the first coat is dry
Application Temperature: Ideally 15–25°C (59–77°F); do not apply below 10°C (50°F)
Coverage: 3–4 sq. metres/litre (32–43 sq. ft/litre) per coat, depending on surface absorbency
Maintenance: Reapply periodically for ongoing protection
Compatibility: Not compatible with previous coatings, grease, or contaminants
Settlement: Shake and stir well before use
Shelf-life/Storage: Store in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly closed; use within 2 years of manufacture
Hazards: Very toxic to aquatic organisms; may cause long-term effects. Keep out of reach of children. In case of eye contact, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advice. After skin contact, wash with plenty of water. Wear protective clothing, gloves, and eye/face protection.
