The UJK Professional Woodworker's Marking Squares are designed to save you time, simplify marking and laying out, and ensure accurate results every time. Simply put, these are a woodworker’s square built to engineering tolerances. Passionately engineered and manufactured at the in-house facility in Axminster, UK, by experts with decades of woodworking knowledge, they are meticulously CNC machined from high-grade aluminium for maximum precision. Every angle and every measurement is flawlessly accurate, so you will produce impeccable results in all your woodworking projects. They feature engraved degree lines that will never wear away and are finished with a durable >15 micron thick protective anodised layer.
The design cleverly combines features from both quick squares and combination squares. You can mark or check 90° and 45° angles, or use the pivot point aligned with the angle scale to set any angle between 10° and 90°. A tapered marking hole perfectly fits a common pencil and keeps the angle true when scribing straight lines along the length of a board. Dual inside and outside scales are measured from the edge of the butt, with built-in centre marks for 15mm and 18mm – the most common widths of MDF and other sheet materials. The outside scale is particularly useful for a wide range of machinery tasks such as checking router cutter heights, measuring for kitchen cupboards, furniture making, squaring your bandsaw, general machine setup, and guiding 90° cuts with a circular saw. The butts come in two different thicknesses, 7.5mm and 9mm, for quick centre marking on common sheet materials.
The squares are available in three sizes – 150mm, 250mm and 350mm – to suit different tasks. Radius triangles in the centre of the 250mm and 350mm versions (the 150mm has R6 and R10) make the squares lighter and allow easy marking of rounded corners on furniture to remove sharp edges. For best results, use a stair gauge for repetitive angle marking and opt for a 3H–8H pencil to achieve finer, more accurate lines.
