The Axminster Professional AW15AFS Air Filter is designed for the average home workshop or garage, especially where hand sanding takes place. Powered by a quiet 95W motor, it helps remove dry airborne wood dust particles that remain hanging in the air and should always be used in conjunction with a dust extractor. Air passes through an electrostatic pre-filter and into the main pleated filter, filtering 98% of all particles 5 microns in size and 86% of all particles 1 micron in size. In addition, the supplied remote control unit offers three motor speed settings and three time settings of 1, 2 or 4 hours, allowing the machine to continue cleaning the workshop air after work has finished for the day. The AW15AFS now includes an Active Flow Sensor, which detects when the filter becomes blocked. When the filter blocks, an alarm sounds and the top row of lights on the control panel starts flashing; once you clean or replace the filters, reset the system by holding the on speed button for around 10 seconds, then releasing it. Furthermore, the machine runs reasonably quietly, with sound pressure levels of 61dB at low speed, 62dB at medium speed and 64dB at high speed. It is supplied with an electrostatic pre-filter, main filter and four mounting eyes, and it needs secure mounting capable of holding a 25kg static load at least 2m off the ground. Optional accessories include a charcoal filter for neutralising odours and harmful organic fumes or particles, including pollen, as well as a ceiling mounting kit that helps position the machine out of the way.
