Rustins Grain Filler Oak is designed to fill the grain of oak and other wood surfaces, providing a smooth and even finish while preventing the sinking of the final coat. This high-quality paste can be thinned with white spirit for ease of application and works seamlessly with all types of finishes. It can also be tinted with Rustins Wood Dye to combine filling and staining in one operation. The filler is suitable for use on all types of wood and ensures that nails and screws will be securely held once dried.
Product Type: Paste consisting of fillers and pigments in an oleo-resinous medium
Intended Use: Filling the grain of all types of wood
Special Features: Variable particle size for precise filling; compatible with all finishes
Preparation: Clean the wood with white spirit and fine wire wool to remove grease and wax
Application: Thin with white spirit, rub the filler into the wood surface, and remove any surplus
Coats: One application is usually sufficient
Drying Time: 5–6 hours
Re-coating Time: Allow 12 hours before sanding with fine sandpaper
Application Temperature: Ideal between 15–25°C (59–77°F)
Shelf Life: Very long when stored in an airtight container
Clean-Up: Clean all equipment with white spirit while the filler is still wet
