The Axminster Professional Honing & Bevel Guide Package combines the Ultimate Edge Honing Guide with the Bevel Guide to create a highly accurate hand sharpening and honing system for plane blades, chisels and similar edge tools. Designed and CNC machined in Axminster’s own manufacturing facility, this package provides excellent control and precision when sharpening.
Using a bench stone or diamond stone, the guide allows you to sharpen blades with bevel angles ranging from a shallow 20° to a steep 40°. Furthermore, after establishing the primary bevel, you can easily add a micro bevel from as little as 1°, enabling precise and repeatable sharpening results every time.
The guide is suitable for plane blades, bevel edge chisels, mortice chisels and Japanese chisels. In addition, the slightly undercut dovetail jaws securely clamp blades or chisels against the body for improved stability during sharpening. The jaws accommodate blades ranging from 6mm to 66mm wide, while the reversible left-hand jaw allows secure clamping of chisels with non-parallel sides.
Set-up is simple and efficient thanks to the included setting jig, which is based on a 25mm blade projection. The permanently etched degree scale offers clear visibility and accurate angle adjustments in 1° increments. Additionally, the wide Delrin roller ensures excellent stability while helping reduce unnecessary wear on the sharpening stone.
Constructed from high-quality materials, the honing guide features robust steel construction, while the bevel guide uses anodised black aluminium for improved rust resistance and durability.
