The Axminster Workshop AP2920B Bandsaw offers professional-grade cutting capacity, smooth operation and strong support for woodturners, cabinet makers and busy workshops.
The Axminster Workshop AP2920B Bandsaw is a great-value floor-standing machine designed for woodturners, cabinet makers and woodworkers who need generous cutting capacity without taking up unnecessary workshop space. It combines a 1.7kW induction motor with a 300mm maximum cutting height, making it suitable for a variety of tasks, from cabinet making to woodturning preparation. In addition, the 440mm x 540mm cast iron table gives large workpieces firm support and allows timber to glide smoothly during cutting. The tubular steel frame provides robust strength and helps reduce vibration, while the press steel doors support the machine’s durable workshop build. Furthermore, the 355mm cast iron blade wheels with hard rubber tyres help maintain blade speed and promote a smooth, consistent cut. The upper blade guide uses rack and pinion rise and fall adjustment, so you can set the guide quickly and accurately. The rip fence locks positively and includes a Hi/Lo auxiliary fence: use the high position for full support when deep ripping, or the low position when cutting thin section timber close to the blade. Moreover, the quick tension release lever makes blade changes straightforward, while fully adjustable blade tensioning and tracking help deliver precise cutting action. Dual mitre slots on either side of the blade make the machine practical for jig use, and the supplied premium mitre fence includes useful pre-set angle stops. Efficient two-point dust extraction works through a 63mm outlet under the table linked to a 100mm outlet by the bottom wheel.
